John and his family moved to Florida from Maine in 1998. He formed Downeast Contractors after passing Florida’s certified general contractor exam and licensing process. John loved working with families in Flagler County, and with the use of his Broker’s license, he helped clients find homes that met their needs.
After the 2008 financial crisis, John found himself drawn to the challenge of managing luxury home projects in Jacksonville, Florida. The projects were complex, the stakes were high, and the satisfaction of bringing a homeowner’s vision to life made him tick. It was during these years that John honed his skills and built relationships with some of the best subcontractors and builders in the region. By 2021, he felt it was time to take all he had learned and restart his own venture as a professional remodeling contractor who focuses on high-end renovations and home additions in Northeast Florida.
